AEO, GEO, and SEO consulting
Answer engine optimization (AEO), generative engine optimization (GEO) and search engine optimization (SEO) as one program: work that gets a brand named in AI answers and ranked in search, built on 13+ years of search work and run on tooling I build myself.

Questions I get asked
What is answer engine optimization?
Answer engine optimization (AEO) is the work of getting a brand named and linked inside the answers that AI assistants give. When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google AI Overviews a question in your category, AEO decides whether your name is in the response and whether the link under it is yours. It covers entity coverage, structured data, content written so an engine can extract a clean answer from it, the authority signals behind that content, and the tracking that shows whether citations moved.
What is generative engine optimization?
Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the same goal approached from the retrieval side. Answer engines break one question into many smaller queries before they compose a reply. GEO is the work of covering that fan-out: the entities, the sub-questions and the sources a model reaches for while it assembles an answer.
Is AEO different from SEO, or is it a rebrand?
The goal is different and the mechanism is different. SEO competes for a position in a list of results. AEO competes to be the source quoted inside a single composed answer, where there is no list and usually no second place. The foundations overlap heavily, which is why I run them as one program, and optimizing for a ranking and optimizing to be cited remain two different jobs.
Does AEO replace SEO?
AEO builds on SEO. Answer engines retrieve from indexes that classical search engine optimization builds and maintains, so a site that is slow, badly structured or untrusted in search goes uncited in an answer as well. SEO consulting stays part of every program for that reason.
How do you know whether AI is citing a brand?
By measuring it. I track a defined set of priority queries across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, record whether the brand is mentioned and whether it is cited with a link, and compare that against the competitors appearing instead. That gives a share-of-voice figure that moves, which is the only honest way to judge whether the work is doing anything.
How long before anything changes?
It depends on where the movement has to come from. Entity and schema work changes how a model resolves the brand, so it tends to show first. Content-driven citation gains follow the content as it is published and picked up. The tracking reports both every month, so you see what moved and when, and anyone who quotes a fixed timeline before measuring is guessing.
What tools do you use?
Tools I build, alongside the standard stack. Mine cover AI citation tracking, entity and schema coverage, content mapping, keyword research and competitive analysis. They have run in production since 2022 and hundreds of SEO professionals use them. Alongside them: Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio.
Do you use AI to produce content at volume?
I use AI for the volume and people for the judgement. Programmatic content at volume carries real risk and rarely delivers the growth people expect, so my programs run a hybrid: AI does most of the production, and human experts guide and supervise every step, from the inputs to the final edit.
Who do you work with?
SaaS companies, fintech and comparison brands, publishers, e-commerce retailers and travel businesses: the industries behind the case studies on this site. I am based in Paphos, Cyprus, and I work remotely. I take a small number of engagements at a time, part time, up to 25 hours a week in total.
