AEO strategy and technical audit
Short answer
Month one of a program: an answer engine optimization (AEO) and search engine optimization (SEO) audit of the site, sitemap and crawl analysis, competitor content and backlink analysis, and a prioritized strategy with a technical implementation tracker, so the work that moves citations starts in the right order.
What the work covers
The audit reads the site the way an answer engine does: can it be crawled, is it understood, is it trusted. Structure comes first, since most page-level problems follow from it: site architecture, internal linking, indexation, structured data and entity coverage, page speed. The competitor analysis covers content and backlinks for the set the report defined.
The strategy ranks every finding by the number it moves, and the implementation tracker gives your developers the exact change and the business reason for each item, so nothing waits on interpretation.
How it is measured
Against the report’s baseline: citations and share of voice on the priority queries, crawl and index health, and the tracker’s completion. The monthly competitive analysis and progress report starts in this month.
Questions I get asked
Is this a one-off audit or part of a program?
It is the first month of a program, and the audit is written to be acted on: every finding carries its priority and its implementation note, and the tracker follows it through.
Who implements the changes?
Your team, from the tracker, with me checking each change as it lands. Where you have no developer, we agree who does what before the month starts.
Which platforms do you work on?
The audit is platform-independent. I have worked on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Next.js and Ghost sites, and the tracker is written for whichever platform you run.
