Keyword research and content planning
Short answer
Month two of a program: keyword research and strategy by topic pillar, a keyword strategy overview, a content plan and calendar, a custom AI content tool for your team and the guidelines to run it. Built for answer engine optimization (AEO) and search engine optimization (SEO) at the same time.
What the work covers
I build large sets of semantically related keywords with a hybrid of AI and classical SEO tooling, then organize them by search intent into main keywords for the core intent and satellite keywords for the supporting context, so the fan-out queries a retrieval system generates from one question are all covered.
I map your existing pages and the top twenty competitors against them to find the content gaps, write a brief for every main keyword, and organize the pages into a tiered content plan that sets internal linking, content depth and on-page structure, together with the wider architecture: hub and spoke, menu hierarchy, URL silos. The custom AI content tool and the team guidelines turn the plan into pages your writers can produce at the standard the plan needs.
How it is measured
Coverage of the fan-out: how many of the priority queries and their sub-questions have a page that answers them, and how those pages enter citations and rankings as they publish. The monthly report tracks both.
Questions I get asked
How is this different from a keyword list?
A list ranks words by volume. This plan groups them by intent and by the sub-questions an engine asks itself, maps them to pages, and says what each page must contain to be cited. Volume still matters. Structure is what gets quoted.
Who writes the content?
The plan, the briefs, the tool and the guidelines are mine; the pages are written by your team, with me reviewing them against the briefs. Where you have no writers, we agree the arrangement before month two.
Do you use AI to write the pages?
AI does most of the production and people do the judgement: the inputs, the sources, the humanizing and the final edit are human work. Programmatic content at volume carries risk that lands on the client and rarely delivers the growth people expect, so my programs leave it out.
